Prenatal Yoga

Our prenatal yoga course is designed for active pregnant women in Canberra, providing a physically challenging class but practicing in a very safe and modified way to make sure there is no risk to you or your baby.

These classes will empower you to maintain your fitness throughout your pregnancy, aid in the preparation for labour, set you up for a speedy post partum recovery but most importantly, will focus on nurturing a healthy state of mind throughout this very special time in your life.

No doubt you are thrilled that you are pregnant and looking forward to meeting this little human you have created! But at the same time, you don't have to give up all the hard work you've done to become fit and feeling like the best version of yourself.

Your body is going to change, there is no denying that, but being pregnant doesn't mean you have to put your feet up for the next 9 months! You can still maintain your fitness, health and wellbeing whilst providing a safe and comfy home for your baby to grow. This approach will also help you work through the challenges you may face as your physical body changes and will prepare you mentally for a positive birthing experience.

Postnatal Yoga

This postnatal yoga course is designed for women in Canberra who are ready to get back into yoga after the birth of their baby.  You can commence 6 weeks after a vaginal birth or 8-10 weeks after a caesarean birth (following routine postnatal check-up at 6 weeks with the GP).

Your bubs are more than welcome to join you in these classes! Whether they sit/lie happily watching you whilst you move, sleep in their capsule or you can incorporate them into most of the poses which is a nice way to bond with bub whilst doing something for yourself.  

Each class will be slightly different with a focus that relates to motherhood (opening tight shoulders from feeding, breath to get us through the stressful times etc.) At the beginning of every class there will be a quick discussion to find out how you're feeling, and if you have anything specific you'd like to focus on it can be worked into the class. Each week they'll be work to help strengthen pelvic floor and safe abdominal exercises to target weakened muscles.

As important as the movement and stretches are, these classes are a great opportunity to get out of the house and meet other new mumma's! As much as you love your baby/ies, we feel that it's so important to socialise and have adult conversation, so they'll be tea and biscuits offered after each class if you do have some time to stay around and chat!
